In November 2020 we had our first experience with the record industry. It was a collaboration with our comrades from the Valencian label, HC Records, where under the title of 'Valencia Manifest EP', we compiled several tracks by artists representative of the Drum & Bass scene in the city where our project was born.
We wanted to take up this concept of releasing through our own label, Low Syndicate Audio, and expand it to other cities and countries with artists whom share our philosophy and values, under the theme of what will be the an enduring chronicle, the 'Manifest' series, which aims to connect sonically distinct movements and artists across the world.
For the launch of this move into internationally waters and as the fourth release of the label we present 'Mexico Manifest EP', [LSA004] where we have representative artists of the Mexican scene, and with whom we have maintained a great friendship for some time. In this EP you can find some of the styles that characterize the Drum & Bass productions of those lands.
Rainforest leads the opening of the Manifest. A habitual suspect of labels such as Omni Music, LW Recordings & Wasabi Limited, he also has tracks released on labels that we deeply admire such as Shoot Recordings & Dope Plates. With the track 'Ghost Passions' he shows us his personal intelligent, introspective and mature sound, emerging from the depths of the jungle.
The veteran Mukiyare has an extensive list of releases across almost two decades on labels such as Influenza Media, Soul Deep, Blu Saphir & Fokuz, among many others. On this track he surprises us, leaving his usual sound which is focused on Soulful D&B and Liquid Funk, with 'Entropia' '. A solid and forceful theme, with notable reminiscences of soul, but with all the flavour of the most sober and dark jungle.
The very young and talented Guanajuto duo composed of Pardelluchs and Viewer, of which LTJ Bukem himself included a track of theirs a few months ago in a mix for BBC1. They give the Liquid touch to the release with 'Eight Days'. A track full of soul and warmth, and that breaks the dark atmosphere of the songs that precede it to propel us towards the crystalline firmament.
We close the EP with another collab, this one produced by TheBR1 & Miv, who have already worked together on occasions for labels such as Soul flex or DNBB. 'Fantasma Espacial' emotionally propels the listener into outer space through organic piano phrasing, combined with synthetic sounds and drums with a certain jazzy air.
